St. Ives Festival of Motorcycles is planned and run by a small organising committee of local bikers belonging to Hunts Bikers motorcycle riders club. The event was the brainchild of the founder member of Hunts Bikers, Chris Brown. The event has grown very quickly, with trade and club stand space fully booked for the 2017 event. In 2017 there was a tremendous turnout from the local community and bikers (3500 bikes) far and wide. In 2018 the committee expect the event to be even more popular and demand for stand space to be very high.
This is very much a charitable event, with us working in close co-operation with our two chosen charities: MAGPAS the emergency medical charity who operate the local air ambulance, and The Poppy Appeal in association with the Royal British Legion Riders Branch. In our first 4 years we have managed to donate over £20,000 to these charities by doubling our targets each year. We hope to continue to surpass our previous year’s total in 2018.
